Bond questions

What's the difference between a surety bond and insurance?

Insurance protects you. A surety bond protects the people your license or contract is meant to protect. If the bond pays a claim, you pay the surety back.

Who needs an H-2A labor contractor bond?

H-2A labor contractors. The U.S. Department of Labor requires the bond before an H-2A labor contractor can bring in H-2A workers.

Is an H-2A bond the same as a California FLC bond?

No. The H-2A bond is federal, and the FLC bond is required by the state for an FLC license. Many contractors need both.
